Sustainability

Leading the way towards a sustainable future for the aviation training industry in New Zealand.

New Zealand has carved out for itself the reputation of being one of the best pilot training destinations in the world.

At IAANZ, we not only train pilots as the ‘Best Path to the Aviation Industry’ but also instill in them a responsibility towards the environment they fly in. We are passionate about our beautiful country and aim to do all we can to reduce and, if possible, even eliminate any negative impact our day-to-day operations might have on the environment.

Sustainability to IAANZ means meeting the current needs of the aviation industry without compromising the ability of future generations to enjoy everything pure and natural that New Zealand has to offer.

Our Sustainability Strategy includes our environment, our community and our people and focusses on addressing significant issues that we can influence.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide our business with a global framework, while establishing the issues the world needs to address in order to become more sustainable. The business has identified eight priority goals from the Sustainable Development Goals that we will actively contribute to in the short term.

The SDGs identified cover the business operations of the Canterbury Aero Club, the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand pilot training, engineering and maintenance services.
