Air New Zealand does not offer introductory pilot training to aspiring pilots. However, the Air New Zealand Academy of Learning has chosen four flight training organisations (FTOs) from throughout the country to be preferred providers for aspiring pilots.

IAANZ was chosen as a preferred flight training organisation after a thorough evaluation process that validated our training programmes and quality systems, as well as confirming our ability to offer airline-styled selection criteria and training requirements.

IAANZ collaborate with Air New Zealand to guarantee that the New Zealand aviation sector, particularly Air New Zealand, has a future supply of airline pilots.

CAA Vietnam and Vietnam Airlines

CAA Vietnam

IAANZ has the privilege of being a Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Approved FTO and a Vietnam Airlines Accepter FTO. Under this relationship IAANZ is able to deliver the following courses to Vietnamese cadets.

  • Commercial Pilot Licence with Multi Engine Instrument Rating
  • Airline Transport Pilot Licence Theory preparation
  • Multi Crew Cooperation Course

Since the beginning of this relationship in 2016, IAANZ has successfully trained over 70 Vietnamese young adults, many of whom are already flying for Vietnam Airlines and other aviation providers in Vietnam.

New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)

NZQA

IAANZ is a New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) Accredited Category 1 provider. NZQA has rated IAANZ ‘Highly Confident’ in educational performance and ‘Highly Confident’ in capability in self-assessment.

NZQA’s role in the education sector is to ensure that New Zealand qualifications are accepted as credible and robust, nationally and internationally, in order to help learners succeed in their chosen endeavours and to contribute to New Zealand society.

NZQA approved Diplomas and training schemes. Domestic students may be eligible to apply for student loans, fees free and allowances on selected programmes.

Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ)

CAA NZ

The Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand is the government agency tasked with establishing civil aviation safety and security standards in New Zealand. The CAA also monitors adherence to those standards and is responsible for enforcement proceedings.

IAANZ is a CAA New Zealand Part 141 certified training organisation.
