Chief Flying Instructor

The International Aviation Academy of New Zealand is a recognised leader in flight training in NZ, providing professional pilot training to students from New Zealand and worldwide.

IAANZ operations are scheduled seven days a week from Christchurch International Airport.

This role has been created exclusively for the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand

We invite suitably qualified individuals to apply for the full-time permanent position of Chief Flying Instructor at the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand.

Reporting to the Head of Training, this person will have responsibility for all training within the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand.  Accordingly, this position will suit an individual with strong and proven leadership, management, training and technical skills and who preferably holds an A-Category Flight Instructor rating, a B-Category Instructor rating is acceptable.

Head of Training

The Canterbury Aero Club is a recognised leader in flight training in NZ, providing commercial and recreational pilots’ licence training. The Club also operates the highly successful International Aviation Academy of New Zealand, which provides professional pilot training to students from New Zealand and worldwide.

The Club and the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand both operate in a complex and changing environment where they must meet demanding standards both domestically and internationally.  You will be responsible for the oversight of Club operations plus the academic operations of the International Aviation Academy of New Zealand ensuring that the highest standards of training are maintained throughout both organisations.

We invite suitably qualified individuals to apply for the full-time permanent position of Head of Training.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this person will have responsibility for all training within both organisations.  Accordingly, this position will suit an individual with strong and proven leadership, management, training and technical skills and who preferably has airline experience and holds or has held a Flight Instructor rating. 

This role is based at our facility at Christchurch International Airport.
